Solution for Health problems in pets
Pet owners are generally advised to visit their vet on a
yearly basis for what is called the ‘annual health check-up’. Most of these
annual visits involve general tests that spot any warning signs of diseases,
parasites, infections and serious illness (for example, kidney disease). At Pet
Guardians we like to remind our customers about the importance of the annual
health check-up.
Worming is essential to protect your pet against external
parasites that are generally harmful, however not all pets are at risk of
internal parasites. It is obviously very difficult to spot any signs of worms
unless special tests are done. Some common symptoms including nausea, vomiting,
diarrhoea, loss of weight, fatigue, and decreased activity with age etc. For
most pets though they are not aware of these symptoms themselves so it is up to
you as the pet owner to regularly de-worm your pet; you can contact most vets
for this service.
Another important thing that needs checking is ticks. Ticks
might carry diseases, some of which can be fatal. If you suspect that your pet
has been bitten by a tick, take it to the vet as soon as possible. It is
important that if your pet is very old or young, diabetic or taking other
medication such as chemotherapy, you should thoroughly discuss with the vet
what treatment should be followed and whether there will be any negative impact
on their health.
Most dogs, especially those who love the outdoors are at risk of contracting cardisure. This common heart disease is not normally life-threatening but can be fatal if left untreated or without receiving medication properly. Make sure your vet checks up your dogs heart rate and prescribe cardisure treatment for them to avoid any further problems.

Our pets are living longer, healthier lives. Advances in pet
healthcare have made it possible to treat many common diseases with medications
that are prescribed or dispensed by our veterinarians. However, some of these
medications also require veterinary supervision for safe usage. Many pet
owners, especially those who drive long distances to see an out-of-area
veterinarian, rely on the services of a nearby 'pet pharmacist' (also referred
to as an animal compounding pharmacy). There are currently 10 pet pharmacies in
Australia.
Pet Guardians is an initiative of Pet Doctors of Australia. As in human health, medical and surgical advances have resulted in longer life expectancies and improved quality of life for our four legged friends.
Major supplement for Pet's health
Cardisure
Cardisure is one of the most popular supplements in pet chemist. It contains cardamone, also known as "chamomile," and echinacea, which is commonly used to boost immunity in humans. Antinol for dogs is a compounded preparation containing cobalamin (vitamin B12) and niacinamide for the treatment of seborrhea. Amoxyclav is a combination of amoxicillin, an antibiotic effective against many common bacteria, and clavulanic acid, which reduces resistance to antibiotics.Amoxyclav
Another common health problem for pets is Amoxyclav. Amoxyclav is an antibiotic and will be prescribed by the vet depending on the severity of the infection. It is always best to clarify with your pet's veterinarian whether Amoxyclav should be used for your pet or not as casual use can lead to resistance against certain types of bacteria making it difficult for the pet to recover from infections later.
Some pets might also require antinol tablets to strengthen their muscles and lessen the risk of certain muscular diseases although it is important to note that this should only be used if advised by a vet as there may be other factors in play including age, weight and overall health etc.
Internal parasites
are a serious concern for both pets and their owners. They can cause
significant health problems, including death in extreme cases, if left
untreated. That’s why we recommend that all pet owners have their animals
wormed on a yearly basis as part of the annual health check-up. If you haven’t
had your pet checked for internal parasites recently, please call us today to
book an appointment with one of our veterinarians. We can provide your pet with
the necessary treatment to protect them from these harmful creatures.
